About Us

Republic Construction Company was originally founded in 1995 as a subsidiary of Republic Development Company. While the original focus was on Medical Office Buildings owned or managed by Republic Development, Republic Construction began to provide construction services to third party clients across a variety of construction projects including commercial buildings and institutional construction projects.

In 2002, Brian Gobel founded Carpentry Plus, Inc, based on the philosophy of providing diverse and quality subcontracting carpentry construction services. Under his leadership, Carpentry Plus built a reputation based on customer service, quality, and the proven ability to deliver a wide range of services for clients throughout the mid eastern region for almost ten years. To take this subcontracting service to the next level, Carpentry Plus was interested in finding a partner that shared it's vision of quality construction and offered complementary structure and resources.

As the economy slowed and development projects became more difficult to bring to fruition,

Republic Construction Company had surplus capacity and unused resources.

In 2011 Carpentry Plus and Republic Construction merged

and Brian Gobel became President of Republic Construction Company.

Headquartered in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia,
